Head Unit
The E46 was available with several head unit options depending on equipment level and model year.
OEM Head Units

Aftermarket Replacement
Section titled “Aftermarket Replacement”The E46 uses a standard ISO/DIN radio cavity that accepts aftermarket head units with the appropriate adapter kit:
- Wiring harness adapter: Converts BMW-specific harness to ISO
- Antenna adapter: BMW uses a specific antenna connector
- Steering wheel control adapter: Maintains steering wheel button functionality
Android Head Units
Section titled “Android Head Units”Several Android-based head units are available that fit the E46 dashboard perfectly, offering navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto in an OEM-look form factor.
