Engine Mounts
Section titled “Engine Mounts”The M54 uses two hydraulic engine mounts and one transmission mount. They isolate engine vibration from the chassis.
Symptoms of Worn Mounts
Section titled “Symptoms of Worn Mounts”- Excessive engine movement visible
- Vibration at idle transmitted to cabin
- Clunking during acceleration or deceleration
- Visible fluid leak from mount (hydraulic type)
Engine Mounts (2x)
Section titled “Engine Mounts (2x)”- Located on either side of engine block
- Hydraulic fluid-filled rubber mounts
- Replace in pairs
Transmission Mount
Section titled “Transmission Mount”- Located under transmission tail
- Rubber mount with metal bracket
- Torque: 45 Nm
Upgrade Options
Section titled “Upgrade Options”- Condor Speed Shop solid mounts (track use)
- Polyurethane mounts (compromise between stock and solid)
- Solid mounts significantly increase NVH
