Engine Mounts

The M54 uses two hydraulic engine mounts and one transmission mount. They isolate engine vibration from the chassis.

  • Excessive engine movement visible
  • Vibration at idle transmitted to cabin
  • Clunking during acceleration or deceleration
  • Visible fluid leak from mount (hydraulic type)
  • Located on either side of engine block
  • Hydraulic fluid-filled rubber mounts
  • Replace in pairs
  • Located under transmission tail
  • Rubber mount with metal bracket
  • Torque: 45 Nm
  • Condor Speed Shop solid mounts (track use)
  • Polyurethane mounts (compromise between stock and solid)
  • Solid mounts significantly increase NVH
