Fuel Filter
Section titled “Fuel Filter”The E46 fuel filter is located under the car near the fuel tank on the right side. It filters contaminants from fuel before reaching the engine.
Replacement Interval
Section titled “Replacement Interval”- Every 30,000-50,000 miles
- Replace with fuel pump service
Procedure
Section titled “Procedure”- Relieve fuel system pressure
- Raise vehicle
- Locate filter on right side near fuel tank
- Use fuel line disconnect tools
- Remove mounting bracket
- Install new filter (note flow direction arrow)
- Reconnect lines and check for leaks
