Blower Motor

The blower motor forces air through the HVAC system. It’s controlled by the final stage resistor (FSR) for variable speed.

Under the passenger-side dashboard, inside the HVAC housing.

  • No air flow at any speed
  • Reduced air flow
  • Unusual noise (grinding, squealing)
  • Intermittent operation

Part: 64 11 8 372 493 (Behr OEM recommended)

  1. Remove glove box or lower dash panel
  2. Disconnect blower motor electrical connector
  3. Remove blower motor retaining clips/screws
  4. Pull old motor out
  5. Install new motor in reverse

If the FSR fails repeatedly, the blower motor may be drawing excessive current and should be replaced.
