Fuse Chart

The E46 has two fuse boxes: one in the glove box area and one in the engine bay.

Glove Box Fuse Panel

Located behind the glove box door, lower right dash area. Contains 31 fuses.

Refer to the fuse chart data for complete positions, ratings, and circuit descriptions.

Engine Bay Fuse Box

Located on the right side of the engine bay, behind the strut tower. Contains 8 large fuses (maxi fuses).

Troubleshooting Tips

• Always replace fuses with the correct amperage rating
• If a fuse blows repeatedly, diagnose the underlying short circuit
• Use a test light or multimeter to check fuses without removing them
• Keep spare fuses in the glove box (there’s a built-in holder)
