Transmission & Drivetrain Overview
The E46 330i and 330Ci were available with either a 5-speed manual (Getrag S6S-420G) or a 5-speed automatic (GM A5S 390R or ZF 5HP19) transmission. All RWD models use a front-engine, rear-drive layout with a two-piece driveshaft and rear-mounted differential.
